Pioneering Contributions

  • Identified the intravascular ultrasound 'half-moon sign' in myocardial bridging, materially improving recognition and management of this lesion.
  • Introduced and advanced complex coronary intervention strategies in China, including the retrograde guidewire technique for chronic total occlusion, which later became a standard CTO crossing method internationally.
  • Led development of China's first biodegradable-polymer drug-eluting coronary stent and the fully bioresorbable XINSORB scaffold platform, linking interventional practice with domestic device innovation.
  • Pioneered transradial outpatient coronary angiography and helped establish Shanghai's 24-hour acute myocardial infarction rescue green channel.
